My story so far ...

Growing up in a military family taught me adaptability, resilience, and the ability to build trust quickly - skills that have shaped my leadership style throughout my career. Frequent moves and constant change prepared me early for navigating uncertainty, seizing opportunities, and saying yes to challenges that stretched me beyond my comfort zone.

The moments that shaped me most were those where I was thrown into the deep end, learning fast and finding ways not just to survive but to thrive. Those experiences convinced me that real growth comes from embracing the unknown, not staying safe in the shallows.

At the heart of everything I do is a commitment to helping people unlock their potential and overcome barriers - whether in organisations, teams, or with individuals.

My Experience

For the past 20 years, I have worked at the intersection of healthcare, leadership, and governance, primarily in the not-for-profit sector. For 12 years, I served as CEO of a London social enterprise providing urgent primary care services to over one million people. In that role, I rebuilt organisational reputation and guided the Board through a period of growth, strategy development, and organisational resilience while sustaining high-quality service delivery.

Beyond the CEO role, I was a national advisor for the Department of Health supporting regional health local health bodies, consulting with healthcare providers, NHS commissioners, and regulators. My focus was on ensuring services were robust, efficient, and accountable against performance and governance standards.

Throughout I have worked as an independent therapeutic counsellor. This has helped me to bring a unique lens to leadership and the awareness that professional and personal identities are inseparable. This insight has shaped my approach to creating alignment between people’s strengths, their roles, and the outcomes that organisations need.

More recently, I have contributed at an organisational and national level as a Trustee, a Board Member, and the Deputy Chair of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

My background combines senior executive leadership with professional expertise in coaching and therapeutic counselling. I am able to draw on a rich combination of leadership experience, board-level governance, and in-depth training in coaching, counselling, and supervision. My background in public service delivery equips me with a realistic understanding of the pressures faced by senior leaders, including scrutiny from regulators, commissioners, and the public. I bring a calm, grounded presence and the ability to support others through emotionally and operationally complex challenges. This unique blend of strategic management and therapeutic insight allows me to work with leaders holistically - aligning business goals with personal growth to unlock sustainable performance.

What I’ve Learned

Leadership is not simply about strategy and execution - it’s about understanding people. When organisations harness both the professional expertise and personal perspectives of their teams, they unlock innovation, resilience, and sustainable success. My career has been dedicated to building that synergy, delivering results that matter for people, organisations, and communities alike.
